Utilizzo: Utilizzato principalmente come agente decolorante per vetro e polvere per glottaggio.
Utilizzato anche come materia prima nella fabbricazione del cerio metallico.
L'ossido di cerio ad alta purezza è molto importante nelle applicazioni di materiali fluorescenti delle terre rare.
